Vietnam has confirmed seven new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the national tally to 141.
Six people in Hanoi, including one doctor, and one person in central Da Nang City have been confirmed to be the latest novel coronavirus patients in Vietnam. All of them are Vietnamese and are in stable condition.
“Patient 135” is a 27-year old woman in the northern Hai Phong City. On March 19 she left Copenhagen, Denmark for Vietnam and transited via Doha, Qatar and Bangkok, Thailand. She landed in Da Nang on the flight PG947 on March 21.
“Patient 136” is a 23-year old woman in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi. She is a student returning from the U.S. and landed at Noi Bai International Airport on March16. Upon arrival, she isolated herself at home.
On March 21 she developed a fever. The next day medical staff came to take her samples, which are tested positive.
“Patient 137” is a 36-year old man in the central Nghe An Province. He travelled in Germany and returned to Hanoi on March 15. He was taken into a quarantine camp upon arrival. His flight details were not immediately available.
“Patient 138” is a 23-year old man in Dong Da District, Hanoi. He is a student in the U.K. who returned to Hanoi on March 21 on the flight VN54. He was put into quarantine upon arrival.
“Patient 139” is a 24-year old woman in Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. She is a student returning from the U.K. who arrived in Hanoi on March 21 on the flight VN54 and was taken into a quarantine zone upon arrival.
“Patient 140” is a 21-year old man in Tay Ho District, Hanoi. He is a student returning from the U.K. who arrived in Hanoi on March 21 on the flight VN54. He was taken into a quarantine zone upon arrival.
“Patient 141” is a 29-year old doctor in the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Hanoi. He contracted the virus when setting up a breathing machine for “Patient 28”.
He was exposed to the virus on the same day with “Patient 116”, another doctor in the same department.
Vietnam has confirmed 141 Covid-19 cases so far, of whom 17 have been cured and discharged from hospitals. Most of the active cases are those coming back from Europe and the U.S. and people in close contact with them.
The Covid-19 pandemic has spread to 196 countries and territories, claiming 18,500 lives.
