Bob Harper says ‘life is good’ two years after heart attack

Bob Harper is celebrating the two-year anniversary of the heart attack that nearly left him dead.

“I am so thankful to be here,” the 53-year-old fitness guru shared on his Instagram Tuesday with flowers labeling the day “Survival Day.” “My message to you is to appreciate where you are in your life. No matter how hard it can get, you have the power to change anything that you want as long as you never give up.”

Harper, who hosted NBC’s “Biggest Loser” series, says his new mantra is “Life is Good.”

In February 2017, Harper was working out at a New York City gym when he suffered a heart attack and fell unconscious. A doctor, who also happened to be at the gym, performed CPR on him. Harper spent eight days in a hospital.

In the weeks and months following his illness, Harper admitted that he ignored the warning signs. As a result, Harper was forced to change his diet adopting a Mediterranean-style of eating with grains, veggies and fish.

He initially struggled to trust his heart again, but eventually completed cardiac rehab.
