Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen had a meeting in Hanoi on December 8, stressing the importance of nurturing the two countries’ solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

Chairwoman Ngan said PM Hun Sen’s official visit is a landmark in bilateral relations and also shows the Cambodian leader’s special sentiment towards the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Informing Ngan about his country’s recent socio-economic development and the results of the 6th-tenure NA election, Hun Sen said in this tenure, the Cambodian Government will make efforts to solve border-related issues with neighbouring countries, including Vietnam.

Chairwoman Ngan emphasised that Vietnam always supports and is delighted at Cambodia’s development achievements. She also congratulated the country on the successful general election.

She voiced her belief that under the leadership of the Cambodian Senate, NA and Royal Government with the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) being the core, the country will sustain its growth and stability, has an increasing role and stature in the region and the world, and obtain even greater accomplishments in national construction.
